Pumpkin Carving

Well, hard to believe, but it is that time of year again! Our kids love carving pumpkins! What kid doesn't, I wonder? Anyway, we all had a good time. It took longer than normal this year and the kids ended up going to bed before we could get the annual picture of them sitting with their carved pumpkin. We did get the pumpkins in a pic though. All in all I would say the event was a success. My back wasn't too bad, so I got down on the floor and helped scoop out pumpkin gunk with the kids. Drew called me from the top of the Eifle Tower this morning. He said it was awesome. He is tired from the travels though.

News and Pics

It's single mom duty for the next 14 days or so while Dad is gone. I don't think it has hit me yet how far away he will be. Tonight was pretty smooth though as far as kids and family go. It was a rainy, cold afternoon, so we stayed in and hung out for a while. Last night we carved pumkins (kind of glad that is over). It's one of those activities that is fun, messy, chaotic, and tiring all at the same time. Tmrw the kids have a harvest party at the school, so that should be a fun start to the weekend. Saturday we will hit the farmer's market and I will cook up a storm here at home. Sunday is the primary program ((fingers crossed it goes smooth). NOt much else to report. Joseph's word for the week is "yellow".

Pics and Projects

I've been a little lazy about getting pics off the camera. Since I have moaned so much about the house and front yard, I thought all might like to see some pics of this daunting task! I've also included pics of the quilting projects I've got going. Remember please that I am new to sewing altogether, It is fun so far though.

Time for Pics

So I know it's taken forever to download pics from the camera. This weekend was General Conference and I absolutely loved it. I felt like every talk was motivating and I truly got a spiritual recharge! The Marston clan came over for Sunday morning session and Sunday evening we fed the missionaries as well. It was nice to have them in our home for a meal...it has been too long. We celebrated D.J.'s 7th b-day as well. Where does the time go? There are yet more pics from this weekend that I still need to get off the camera.

Ramblings

Why Thank you for this beautiful award Lea-Ann! I am so honored that you love all things Isaksen and passed along this award,,, :-). I'll have to do some thinking on who to pass in on to. Long day though and bed sounds mighty fine. Picked apples with the kids today over at Onkens,..had a great time. Kids enjoyed running all over the spacious grass and also swinging on the swings there. Picked out fabric for my next quilt project which will keep me busy in the evenings when Drew is in Africa. Still need to upload tons of pics from the camera.
